Take an old house that is about to be demolished, a bunch of talented artists and you will get a little bit of magic. The creative collective Cueva has been using this recipe since a couple of years in and around Esch. Last year it was “Uecht” in an old garage warehouse. This year its “Lankelz” in a house/bistro that is going to be demolished.
In total, 39 artists worked in this house on 3 floors and a garage and you could admire their masterpieces during a month. I loved it all because they were all different but wonderful in their own way. So, it’s hard to choose the rooms that I liked the most.
But some of my coup de coeur were:
The pink kitchen with a twist by Reiny Rizzi-Gruhlke, Veronique Kolber’s vintage display of her photos on the stairway, Jeanine Unsen’s bathroom in the attic with embroidered photos, Sandra Biewers’ floral universe, the golden room “Burn like a millionaire” by Miikka Heinon, the room full of mirrors and two giant hearts by Eleonora Pasti and the neon “war bar” by Chiara Dahlem in the garage.
Have a look at the pictures and you will understand why I was so amazed by this house.
